CENTRAL PRE-SCHOOL
Central Pre-school was started in 1978 and was situated within the Central Community Centre, Emlyn Square, Swindon.
A committee run pre-school which offered care for 3 & 4 year olds 5 mornings per week, with a maximum of 24 children each session.
Lisa Frost joined the committee in 2005 as Treasurer and stepped up to Chairperson in January 2007. Tessa Lacey joined the team in 2007 to manage the Pre-school. In 2008, the Pre-school began offering flexible full day care, opening from 9am until 3pm.
Deepti Sood became a member of staff in 2006 after volunteering whilst her daughter attended. Deepti is now a Senior Room Leader.
Lisa Frost stepped down as our Chairperson in 2010 to become our Business Manager in June. Sally Jones also joined our team this same year.
All of these staff members have transferred across to Central@RLK, and many have completed training courses and gained further qualifications whilst they have been with us.
Central Pre-school ceased trading from The Central Community Centre in July 2015 after 37 happy years there. It was a sad moment when we cleared the room but was also a very happy and exciting time to be expanding our provision and opening up in such a wonderful setting!
